Goalhanger Selects Six Digital Creators for Inaugural Creative Business Accelerator Cohort

London-based media company Goalhanger announces the first participants of its innovative incubator designed to scale short-form creators into long-form IP.

Investing in the c of Digital Audio and Video IP

The evolution of the creator economy requires successful digital talent to think beyond individual algorithmic uploads and focus on building sustainable long-term brands.

Goalhanger, the media company co-founded by Gary Lineker, Tony Pastor, and Jack Davenport, has taken a significant step toward structuring this transition. The company has officially announced the six digital creators chosen for the inaugural cohort of its creative business incubator named The Accelerator.

The chosen participants include a diverse mix of media professionals, satirists, and journalists. Among the selected individuals are Tolly Shoneye, founder of the successful audio series The Receipts Podcast, alongside satirist Cody Dahler, video creator Tom Nicholas, author and journalist Sophia Smith Galer, comedy writer Andrea Valls, and generational historian Dr. Eliza Filby.

The cohort was finalized after a comprehensive selection process evaluating hundreds of global applications across areas of creative intent, expertise, and long-term commercial viability.

Financing, Infrastructure, and Cross-Platform Distribution

Participating creators receive up to 10,000 British pounds in direct production investment alongside access to premium advertising inventory across established network channels, including podcasts, YouTube, and targeted newsletters.

Beyond the initial financial injection, the core focus of the program is to provide operational structure. Rather than reshaping individual creators into a corporate mold, the initiative provides access to senior editorial, creative, and commercial leadership to help digital native talent build out long-form intellectual property, refine production workflows, and establish scalable team structures.

The business model behind the program reflects a broader trend among modern production companies shifting toward venture-backed development models. The incubator follows the launch of Goalhanger Ventures, an investment arm designed to take equity and commercial stakes in promising independent creator-led networks.

As legacy media consumption habits continue to fragment, forward-thinking audio and video networks are building robust development pipelines to source, nurture, and eventually co-produce premium multi-platform programming.

Translating Short-Form Engagement Into Long-Term Brands

The program targets digital creators who have successfully achieved initial traction on platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts but face operational friction when migrating audiences over to longer formats. Managing that pivot requires specialized insights into community management, format development, and cross-platform monetization strategies.

By bridging the gap between algorithmic short-form virality and structured media entrepreneurship, independent networks can secure their longevity while providing a roadmap for digital creators aiming to scale operations without sacrificing creative independence.
