Nanlux Evoke 5C Release: The Smallest Professional 8-Color Spotlight for Precision Lighting

Nanlux unveils the Evoke 5C, an ultra-compact, IP67-rated 6W RGB spotlight featuring the advanced Nebula C8 Color Light Engine for professional cinematography.

Engineering Precision in a Miniature Form Factor

At the 2026 NAB Show, Nanlux introduced the Evoke 5C, a device that redefines the capabilities of ultra-compact LED lighting. Measuring just 5.6 by 4.4 by 4.5 centimeters and weighing only 160 grams, this 6W fixture is designed to provide professional-grade light shaping in spaces where traditional spotlights cannot fit. While its size might suggest entry-level utility, the Evoke 5C is built for rigorous professional environments, featuring an IP67-rated metal body that allows for operation in dust, rain, or even submerged in up to one meter of water.

The introduction of this fixture addresses a common friction point in cinematography and video production: the lack of precision control in miniature lights. Often, small lights are treated as disposable "practical" bulbs or simple accent fills with limited color accuracy. Nanlux has challenged this by integrating the same Nebula C8 Color Light Engine found in its larger, high-output fixtures, ensuring that creators can maintain color consistency across an entire set, regardless of the light's size.

Advanced Color Science with the Nebula C8 Engine

The core of the Evoke 5C is its sophisticated 8-color LED mixing system. By incorporating Deep Red, Red, Amber, Lime, Green, Cyan, Blue, and Indigo LEDs, the spotlight achieves a massive color temperature range from 1,000K to 20,000K. This range is supplemented by a plus or minus 200 green and magenta adjustment, allowing for exact matching with ambient light sources or other fixtures on set.

Color fidelity is a hallmark of the Evoke line, and the 5C maintains these standards with a CRI and TLCI average of 98. For specialized applications such as macro photography or product videography, where color accuracy is non-negotiable, these ratings provide the assurance that skin tones and brand colors will be rendered naturally. The light also includes 460 built-in LEE and Rosco gel presets, significantly reducing the time spent on manual color mixing during time-sensitive shoots.

Versatility Through a Magnetic Ecosystem

To maximize the utility of its small footprint, the Evoke 5C utilizes a comprehensive magnetic accessory ecosystem. This system allows users to snap on modifiers such as a Fresnel lens, a soft dome, a snoot, or a projection attachment in seconds. These modifiers drastically alter the light's output; for instance, the optional Fresnel lens can approximately double the center lux, while the spot beam lens can increase it by more than five times.

This flexibility makes the light ideal for "in-prop" concealment, where a light needs to be hidden inside a lamp, a computer monitor, or even behind furniture to add depth to a scene. The fixture can be powered via its internal lithium battery, which provides roughly 50 minutes of operation at maximum brightness, or through a USB-C connection for continuous use. For larger productions, an 8-light kit is available, featuring a custom charging case that can simultaneously power multiple units and battery grips.

Professional Control and Integration

Despite its size, the Evoke 5C offers the same level of control as full-sized studio fixtures. It supports multiple wired and wireless protocols, including the Nanlink mobile app, DMX/RDM, and LumenRadio CRMX. An integrated NFC function allows users to batch-set parameters for multiple lights even when they are powered off, a feature that significantly speeds up the setup process for complex multi-light arrays.

Whether used as a subtle fill for a video podcast, a localized highlight in a corporate interview, or an unobtrusive practical in a narrative film, the Evoke 5C represents a shift toward smarter, more scalable lighting tools. By providing professional-grade specs in a pocket-sized package, Nanlux is making high-fidelity lighting more accessible for creators working in constrained spaces.
