Data Dump: New Rankings, Trackers and Awards

Joe Rogan maintained his top spot among all US podcasts in the first quarter of 2024, with Crime Junkie and The Daily holding in their second and third place spots, but the remainder of the Top 10 jumbled, with the #4 slot going to New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, according to data from Edison Podcast Metrics.

We found a helpful Top 50 compilation over at Podnews, complete with links to download any or all of the shows.

Outside the US, a 33 percent podcast listening rate among British adults highlights information from radio data tracker RAJAR, while Triton Digital released their latest rankings for shows in Australia.

Triton also tracks podcasts in the US, Canada, New Zealand, Latin America and the Netherlands. Category breakdowns are also available.

For even broader reach, YouGov pushes into 47 global markets, breaking down listenership by region and country.

Podscribe also announced a subscription to their new International Research function, aiming to help advertisers tailor campaigns to different global markets.

Another podcast-related tool released by Nielsen, the Media Distributor Gauge, notes that YouTube accounted for almost 10 percent of total television usage in April, a promising sign for video podcast shows.

Finally, for those who prefer a shinier way of ranking, the winners of the 2024 Webby Awards are out, including a list of the nominees and winners in podcast categories.
