Libsyn Surpasses $100 Million in Creator Payouts Amid Podcasting Growth

Podcast host Libsyn has paid creators over $100 million, with payouts up 40% year-on-year as Gen Z reshapes listening habits.

Podcast hosting giant Libsyn has announced a significant achievement, having paid out over $100 million to its creator community. This milestone highlights the platform's commitment to supporting the burgeoning podcast industry and its creators.

The company also reported a substantial 40% year-on-year increase in revenue payouts between January and July of this year, signaling robust growth.

Libsyn's announcement comes amidst a dynamic period for podcasting. New data from Coleman Insights and Amplifi Media, in collaboration with Transistor, reveals that Gen Z primarily discovers podcasts through social media, with YouTube emerging as their preferred listening app.

This contrasts sharply with older demographics, indicating a generational shift in podcast consumption habits.
